제 목: ‘모로코 대지진 - 리비아 대홍수’ 피해 한국교회 연대 서신 발표 보도 요청의 건

1. 한국기독교교회협의회(NCCK, 김종생 총무. 이하 교회협)는 지난 8일과 12일 모로코와 리비아 각 지역에서 발생한 대지진과 대홍수로 큰 피해를 입고 고통 중에 있는 이들에 깊은 위로를 전하며 아래와 같이 9개 회원교회 대표 및 총회장 명의로 연대서신을 발표하였습니다.

2. 본회는 연대서신을 통해 피해지역의 모든 시민들과 에큐메니칼 공동체에 깊은 애도를 표하며, 고난 중에 있는 해당 지역민을 위해 한국교회와 그리스도인을 더불어 세계 에큐메니칼 공동체와 협력할 수 있는 방안을 모색하기로 하였습니다.

(본 연대서신은 세계교회협의회(WCC)를 통하여 해당 지역으로 전달될 예정입니다.)

3. 본회는 참혹한 기후 재난 앞에 탄식하는 창조세계 현장에서 우리들의 삶과 신앙을 성찰하며 이번 대지진과 홍수로 생명을 잃은 이들과 사랑하는 가족과 동료들 그리고 황망한 현장에서 깊은 슬픔에 빠져있을 모든 이들에게 하늘의 깊은 위로와 자비가 함께 하시기를 간절히 기원합니다.

모로코 대지진과 리비아 대홍수로 피해 입은

모든 생명들에 깊은 위로와 애도를 전합니다.

전 세계적인 기후재난 앞에 하나님의 온 창조세계가 탄식하고 있습니다. 한국기독교교회협의회(NCCK)는 특별히 지난 8일과 12일 모로코와 리비아 지역에서 각각 발생한 대지진과 대홍수로 수천 명이 숨지고 수만 명의 사상자를 낸 천재지변 앞에 사랑하는 이들을 잃고 깊은 슬픔에 잠겨있을 해당 지역의 모든 시민들과 에큐메니칼 공동체에 깊은 위로와 애도를 전합니다.

이와 같은 형언할 수 없는 고통 앞에 우리 한국교회는 희생당한 이들이 차마 감당치 못할 크나큰 고난과 고통의 짐을 서로 나누어지기를 자처하며, 한국의 그리스도인들그리고 세계 에큐메니칼 공동체와 함께 한 마음으로 기도하며 그리스도의 우정을 실천해 나갈 것입니다.

본 회는 다시한번 참혹한 기후재난 앞에 현대사회를 살아가는 우리들의 삶을 엄숙히 되돌아보며 지진과 홍수로 생명을 잃은 피해자들과 사랑하는 가족 그리고 동료들 위에 하나님의 위로와 치유의 손길이 함께 하시기를 기원합니다. 더불어 큰 상처를 입은 채 그곳에 남아 비극의 터널을 지나고 있는 이들에게는 하늘의 깊은 위로와 돌봄 그리고 하나님의 변함없는 사랑과 자비하신 품 안에서 하루 속히 일상을 회복해 나갈 수 있기를 간절히 기도합니다.

“우리는 모든 피조물이 오늘날까지 다 함께 신음하며 진통을 겪고 있다는 것을 알고 있습니다.”

Deep comfort and condolences to all the lives affected by

the Moroccan earthquake and the Libyan flood.

The whole of God’s created world sighs in light of the global climate disaster. The National Council of Churches in Korea (NCCK) especially sends comfort and condolences to all citizens and ecumenical communities in these regions who must be deeply saddened by the massive earthquakes and floods in Morocco and Libya on the 8th and 12th, respectively.

In the face of such indescribable pain, our Korean Church will practice Christ's friendship by praying together with one heart alongside Christians in Korea and among the global ecumenical community, proclaiming the need to share the burden of great hardship and pain that the victims cannot bear alone.

The NCCK once again solemnly reflects on the lives we live in modern society in the face of a terrible climate disaster and we pray that God's comfort and healing hand goes out to the victims, their loved ones and colleagues who lost their lives in earthquakes and floods. In addition, we sincerely pray that those who remain carrying great wounds, passing through the tunnel of tragedy, will be able to recover their daily lives as soon as possible under the deep comfort and care of heaven and the unwavering love and mercy of God.
