한반도 평화를 위한 기도 27
- 루이스 윌슨(Lois Wilson) 목사, 전 캐나다 상원의원, 전 캐나다연합교회(UCC) 총회장, 전 WCC 의장
과거와 현재와 미래의 은혜로우신 하나님,
우리의 지난날의 모든 투쟁과 고통 가운데 우리를 지탱해 주시고,
모든 모순과 불확실성 속에서도 지금 이 순간에 우리와 함께 계시며,
희망과 성취로 채워진 미래에도 우리와 함께 계실 주님,
주님께서 베푸신 자비로 인해 찬양 드립니다;
한국교회와 기독교장로교회, 캐나다연합교회간의 풍성한 파트너쉽 역사와
대한민국 민주화투쟁 과정에서 보여준 수많은 충실한 증언들,
더 나은 나라를 위해 고통과 억울한 고난을 겪은 많은 사람들에게 베푸신 위로로 인해
하나님께 감사 드립니다.
우리로 새로운 미래를 위해 기도하게 하소서:
권력을 휘두르는 이들에게는 권력을 현명하게 사용할 수 있는 지혜를 주시고,
우리를 방해하고 분열시킬 이들에게는 우리를 하나로 감싸고 사랑으로 묶을 수 있는 팔을 주시고
우리가 적이 되기를 바라는 자들에게는 적이 되기를 거부할 수 있게 하소서.
우리는 모든 것을 새롭게 하시는 하나님 앞에 우리의 가장 깊은 필요와 헌신을 가져옵니다.
평화와 화해에 대한 우리의 무관심을 깨워주시고
정의를 행하고, 자비를 구하며, 하나님과 함께 겸손하게 걷는 것을 갈망하게 하소서.
우리는 새 하늘과 새 땅을 위하여 우리의 헌신을 당신께 드립니다.
우리는 하나님을 통해 모든 생명이 새로워질 때까지:
죽음에서 생명을,
절망에서 희망을,
증오에서 사랑을,
만들어 내시는 부활의 실재를 믿습니다. 아멘.

Gracious God of the past, the present, and the future,
Who has sustained us through all of our past struggles and suffering;
Who is with us at the present moment, with all its contradictions and uncertainties,
And who will be with us in a future pregnant with hope and fulfillment
We bless You for past mercies;
For the rich history of partnership between the PROK and the United Church of Canada;
For the faithful witness that so many displayed during the struggle for democracy in South Korea;
For the comfort you offered to so many who endured pain and undeserved suffering for the sake of a better country.
Let us pray a new future into being:
To those who wield power, the wisdom to use it wisely;
To those who would disrupt and divide us, arms to enfold us and unite us with love;
To those who would wish us to be enemies, a refusal to be enemies.
We bring our deepest needs and commitments into the presence of the One who makes all things new.
We ask that you disturb our apathy or indifference to peace and reconciliation.
Fill us with a longing to do justice, seek mercy, and to walk humbly with You.
We bring before You our commitment to create a new heaven and a new earth;
We reaffirm the reality of the Resurrection, that brings:
Life out of death;
Hope out of despair;
Love out of hatred,
Until all life is made new, through You. Amen.

한국기독교교회협의회(NCCK)는 지난 68회 정기총회에서 “평화를 이루기까지 있는 힘을 다할 것”(시 34:14)을 다짐하고, 한국전쟁 발발 70년을 맞는 올해 2020년을 한반도에서 전쟁을 종식하고 평화협정을 실현하는 “희년의 해”로 선포하였습니다.
이 희년운동의 일환으로 세계교회협의회 (WCC)와 함께 3월 1일부터 8월 15일까지 “한반도평화를 위한 세계기도운동”을 전개하오니, 이번 주부터 매주 보내드리는 기도문 (혹은 신앙간증문)을 가지고 교회와 가정, 직장과 각 자의 삶의 자리에서 이 기도운동에 적극 참여하여 주시기 바랍니다.
